Summit/Ascent: Proper Power Startup Sequence

The Sierra Summit/Ascent system startup procedure is different than the Sierra Wave system start up.  Powering up your Sierra Summit/Ascent system in the proper sequence is important for successful computer and equipment synchronization.
The proper sequence is:

  1. Turn on the Summit/Ascent computer and monitor first.
  2. Wait for Windows to completely start up until you see all of the desktop icons.
  3. Turn the Sierra Summit/Ascent base unit on.
  4. Wait several seconds for the Sierra equipment USB drivers to fully load.
  5. Start the Sierra Summit/Ascent program.

Note that the Sierra Wave startup sequence was different due to the different connection technology.  Sierra Wave uses an Ethernet network connection, and the Sierra Summit/Ascent uses a USB connection to communicate with the computer.
