The export copy of records with viewer feature allows for a copy of a patient record to be made and wrapped in viewer software that allows the record to be viewed on a system without the Arc application software. This is convenient for creating a readable version of a patient record for a referring doctor who does not have the Arc application.
To use this feature, select Export Copy of Records With Viewer from the Record Management panel under the Administration tab. Highlight the patient record(s) that need to be copied and select the green plus symbol. For the selected records, users can choose to check other data/documents to include per study via the options in the bottom right corner of the window. Once all records needing to be copied with viewer have been identified, select the Next button.
There are a few options under Available Records. These options filter the list of patient records available to review.
- Records to Display allows the user to select the number of records to display initially. For example, if set to 500, the list would show the 500 most recent records. The search fields in the header of each column will still search the entire database and will not be restricted to the last 500 records.
- All Records will display all records that the logged in user has permission to review.
- My Records Only will display all records that the logged in user is associated with. For example, if Dr. Jones is logged in and selects this option, she will only see patient records where she has been selected as the physician in the patient info window.
The Data Export window will appear. Two options are available from this point, either copy records with viewer to a local machine or CD/DVD/Blu-Ray. The first tab allows the user to copy records with viewer to any browse-able path either on the network or external media other than a disc. To copy records with viewer to disc, select the CD/DVD/Blu-Ray tab.
Once the destination is entered, select Export. A progress window will appear and notify the user when the copy with viewer function has completed.
To open the record copied with Viewer, navigate to the file and double-click to automatically open the file.
