Easy III: Replacing or Adding a New Workstation or Reader PC to an Existing Easy III Network

If you are replacing a PC, archive off (or move off to PC that is not being replaced) any local patient data from the PC being replaced. Move or archive the data through Easy III System Utilities/Record Manager.

Install the Easy III software (same version that is on your existing PCs) on the new PC as per directions. Install only the Workstation portion and type in the name of the PC you are installing for the name of the Office Server. Answer Yes to only the features that you currently use. Make sure that the correct permissions (read/write/modify or full control) are given for the correct user group to C:\Cadwell and C:\QMWorkstation (and if a recording station the correct sharing permissions: Share name of E3VideoData with full control to Everyone or their domain user group for C:\Cadwell\Easy III\Data).

Copy the databases from an existing Easy III system on the network, preferably your current Easy III application server. These are located in the C:\QMWorkstation\IHS35NYV25ZY4833D\Data3 folder (do not copy the EasyLocal.qxp file). Paste those files into the same folder on the new system and overwrite the existing default databases.

Go to C:\Cadwell\Easy III and double click on RegistryUtil.exe. Change the name of the Office Server in the top line to the name of your Cadwell Application Server. Click the box in the lower left that says Save Changes to Registry. Answer the OK and close.

Open Control Panel and open the Administrative Tools icon. Choose Services. Find the Easy III Synchronization Service, right click on it and Stop it. Minimize Services. Go to C:\Cadwell\Easy III\QMAssistant.exe and double click on it to launch it. This should form a yellow and white clock face in the bottom right task bar next to the Windows time.

Double click on the QMAssistant icon in the task bar and the QMAssistant window should launch – it may take a minute. Make sure that the bottom of the window says Connected to Office Server and the QuickSync window at the top eventually says 0 items sent 0 failed. This means that your new system is synchronized to your other existing Easy III systems. Reboot the computer to restart the Easy III Synchronization Service. If it does not say Connected to Office Server, please call Cadwell Support to troubleshoot any issues that may be occurring.
