Office Server Services on Server 2008/2012/2016
There are three additional services that run on the Easy III Office Server, EasyIIIDataServerService, Easy III – Office server services
EasyIIIAutoArchiverService and EasyIIIOfficeServerService.
In order for the server to synchronize and process data without a user being logged in, these services should run under a service account. This allows them access to the other workstations and data directories.
In order to do this, follow the steps below.
- Open Services.msc
- Find the services in the list
- Right click on each service and select properties. View the Log On tab and select This Account.
- Enter an admin or domain service account and a password. Restart the services to verify it’s working correctly.
- In Easy III versions prior to 4.2 on Server 2012 OS, you will need to configure the EasyIIIOfficeServerService to “Allow Service to Interact with Desktop”. Make sure this is checked on the Log On tab.
We also recommend that you setup a scheduled task to periodically restart the services. Please follow the steps below to configure this on Server 2012 or 2016.
Note: If your Easy III Office Server is a PC and is used as a Reader Station to access data DO NOT run the EasyIIIDataServer as a service. Contact Application Support with any questions.
