Cascade: “Cascade Classic must be run elevated”

The following error messages may appear:

“Cascade Classic must be run elevated to edit System Setup.  Any changes you make may not be saved.”

“Cascade Classic must be run elevated to enter a license key.”

The above error messages indicate that the Cascade software must be started by an administrative user.

Follow these steps to eliminate the error message:

  1. Close Cascade Classic
  2. Right click on the Cascade program icon on your desktop
  3. Select Properties
  4. Select Compatibility
  5. Check the option to “Run this program as an administrator”
  6. Click Apply then OK
  7. Open Cascade and verify that the error is gone
